How to turn off your Android's battery optimizer

Your Android device likely has battery optimization technology that limits or stops apps (such as Cardata Mobile) from working in order to lengthen battery life. When battery optimization is turned on, Cardata may not capture your trips accurately. To avoid such issues, we highly recommend you turn off your device's battery optimizer.

Android 14 battery optimization settings


Samsung

  1. Open your device’s settings screen. Tap the Apps button, followed by Cardata Mobile.
  2. Check that 'Remove permissions if app is unused' is disabled. If enabled, tap the toggle to disable it.
  3. Tap Battery, followed by Unrestricted.

Google Pixel
  1. Open your device’s settings screen. Tap the Apps button, followed by Cardata
  2. Tap Battery.
  3.  Select Unrestricted
  4. Return to the battery page
  5. Tap App Battery Usage.
  6. Select Unrestricted.

OnePlus
  1. Open your device’s settings screen. Tap the Apps button, followed by Cardata.
  2. Tap Battery Usage.
  3. Make sure the following three items are switched to ON.
    1. Allow foreground activity
    2. Allow background activity
    3. Allow auto-launch
  4. Restart your phone to set your changes.

Android 13 battery optimization settings 


Samsung
  1. Open your device’s settings screen. Tap the Apps button, followed by Cardata Mobile.
  2. Check that 'Remove permissions if app is unused' is disabled. If enabled, tap the toggle to disable it.
  3. Tap Battery, followed by Unrestricted.
  4. Return to your device’s main settings screen. Tap Battery and device care.
  5. Select 'Auto-optimization'. Make sure ‘Restart when needed’ is disabled.
  6. Tap Battery, followed by Background usage limits.
  7. Check that 'Put unused apps to sleep' is disabled. If enabled, tap the toggle to disable it.
  8. Once again, reopen your phone settings and tap Battery and device care.
  9. Tap Battery. Then More battery Settings. Ensure that ‘Adaptive battery’ is set to off.

Google

  1. Open your device’s settings screen. Tap the Apps button, followed by Cardata.
  2. Tap App Battery Usage.
  3. Select Unrestricted.

Android 12 battery optimization settings

Samsung
  1. Open your device’s settings screen. Tap the Apps button, followed by Cardata.
  2. Check that 'Remove permissions if app is unused' is disabled. If enabled, tap the toggle to disable it. 
  3. Reopen your device’s settings screen. Tap the Apps button, followed by Cardata.
  4. Tap Battery, followed by Unrestricted.
  5. Reopen your device’s settings screen. Tap Battery and device care.
  6. Tap Battery, followed by Background usage limits.
  7. Check that 'Put unused apps to sleep' is disabled. If enabled, tap the toggle to disable it.
  8. Once again, reopen your phone settings and tap Battery and device care.
  9. Tap the three-dot menu icon at the top right corner of the screen. Then, tap Automation.
  10. Check that 'Auto-optimize daily' and 'Adaptive power saving' are disabled. If enabled, tap the toggles to disable them.

LG V60 ThinQ 5G

  1. Swipe down from the Notification bar. Select the Settings icon.
  2. Scroll until you see the Battery button, then tap it.
  3. From there, tap Battery Saver.
  4. Tap the Off button. If selected, it should turn turquoise.
Google Pixel
  1. Open your device’s settings screen. Tap the Apps button, followed by Cardata
  2. Tap Battery.
  3.  Select Unrestricted
OnePlus
  1. Open your device’s settings screen. Tap the Apps button, followed by Cardata.
  2. Tap Battery Usage.
  3. Make sure the following three items are switched to ON.
    1. Allow foreground activity
    2. Allow background activity
    3. Allow auto-launch
  4. Restart your phone to set your changes.
Oppo
  1. Open your device’s settings screen. Tap the Apps button, followed by Cardata.
  2. Tap Battery.
  3. Select Unrestricted.
Nokia

Step one: Battery usage 

  1. Open your device’s settings screen. Tap the Apps button, followed by Cardata.
  2. Tap Battery.
  3. Tap Unrestricted

Step two: Battery-saver settings

  1. Open your device’s settings screen and tap Battery.
  2. Make sure that 'Battery Saver' and 'Super Battery Saver”' are both toggled OFF. 

Android 11 battery optimization settings

Samsung

Step one: Battery usage 

  1. Open your device’s settings screen. Tap the Apps button, followed by Cardata.
  2. Tap Battery, followed by Optimize Battery Usage
  3. From the drop-down filter, expand the list to “All apps.” 
  4. Make sure that the Cardata app is switched to OFF. 

Step two: Auto-optimize daily 

  1. Open your device’s settings screen. Tap Battery and device care.
  2. Tap the three-dot menu icon at the corner of the screen. In the menu, tap Automation.
  3. Check that “Auto-optimize daily” is disabled. If enabled, tap the toggle to disable it. 
Google Pixel

Step one: Battery optimization settings  

  1. Open your device’s settings screen. From there, tap Battery. Tap the three-dot menu icon at the corner of the screen.
  2. From the menu, tap Battery Optimization, followed by Cardata.
  3. Make sure Cardata is set to “Not optimized.”
  4. Reopen your settings screen. Tap Apps & notifications.
  5. Tap Advanced, followed by Special app access.
  6. Tap Battery optimization. Make sure Cardata is on the “Not optimized” list.

Step two: Adaptive battery settings

  1. Open your settings screen and tap Battery.
  2. Tap Adaptive battery. From there, disable it. 

Step three: Restricted app settings 

  1. Open your settings screen and tap Battery.
  2. Tap the three-dot menu icon. From the menu, tap Battery Usage.
  3. Under “Battery usage since full charge,” you’ll notice a list of apps. Tap More (...) to view all apps used since your device's last full charge.
  4. Select Show full device usage.
  5. Tap the Cardata app to view or change its battery usage.
  6. If “Background restriction” is ON, disable it. 
OnePlus

Step one: Battery optimization settings  

  1. Open your device’s settings screen. Tap Battery, followed by Battery Optimization
  2. From the drop-down filter, expand the list to “All apps.” 
  3. From the list, locate and tap Cardata.
  4. Select “Don’t Optimize.” 

Step two: Apps & notification settings 

  1. Open your device’s settings screen. Tap Apps & notifications.
  2. Tap Special app access. From there, select Cardata.
  3.  Turn Battery optimization OFF. 

Step three: Sleep settings 

  1. Open your device’s settings screen.
  2. Search for ‘Battery,’ and tap it. Then tap Battery optimization.
  3. Tap the three-dot menu icon.
  4.  Tap Advanced Optimization.
  5. Make sure the following are disabled:
    1. Deep optimization (or Adaptive battery)
    2. Sleep standby optimization
Oppo

Step one: Power saving mode

  1. Open your device’s settings screen. Tap Battery.
  2. Ensure that “Power saving mode” and “Super power saving mode” are disabled.

Step two: Battery settings 

  1. Open your device’s settings screen. Tap Battery, followed by More battery settings.
  2. Tap Optimize battery usage. From there, locate and tap Cardata.
  3. Select "Don’t optimize." 

Step three: Auto launch setting

  1. Open your device’s settings screen. From there, tap App Management.
  2. Tap Auto-launch apps. From there, find and tap Cardata.
  3. Enable “allow auto-launch in the background.” 

Android 10 battery optimization settings

Samsung

Step one: Sleeping & never sleeping apps

  1. Open your device’s settings screen. Tap Device care, followed by Battery
  2. Tap Battery usage. A list of apps will appear. Find and tap Cardata
  3. Make sure “Put app to sleep” is disabled. 

Step two: Optimize battery usage setting 

  1. Open your settings screen. Tap Apps, then tap Cardata.
  2. Tap Optimize battery usage
  3. From the drop-down filter at the top of the screen, tap All apps.  
  4. Make sure that the Cardata app is switched to OFF. 
Google Pixel 
  1. Open your device’s settings screen. Tap Apps & Notifications
  2. Select the Advanced section
  3. Open the Special app access screen. 
  4. Tap Battery optimization.
  5. From the drop-down filter at the top of the screen, tap All apps.  
  6. Find and tap Cardata.
  7. From the menu, tap Don’t optimize. Then, tap Done.
Huawei

Step one: Battery optimization settings 

  1. Open your settings screen.
  2. In the search bar, search “Battery optimization.” Tap it when it appears in the search results list.
  3. From the drop-down filter, tap All apps.  
  4. Locate and tap Cardata. 
  5. Make sure that ‘Don’t Allow’ is selected.

Step two: Battery saving mode settings 

  1. Open your device’s settings screen. Tap Battery.
  2. Make sure the following three toggles are set to OFF: 
  • Performance mode
  • Power saving mode
  • Ultra power saving mode 

Step three: Automatic app launch settings 

  1. Open your device’s settings screen. Tap Battery.
  2. Tap App start (Or App launch) and select Cardata.
  3. Remove Cardata from Manage Automatically. 
  4. Tap Manage Automatically and check that the following 3 items are turned ON:-
    1. Auto launch
    2. Secondary launch
    3. Run in background 
Nokia
  1. Open your device’s settings screen. Tap the App & notifications button, followed by Cardata
  2. Tap Battery, followed by Battery optimization
  3. From the drop-down filter, tap All apps.  
  4. Locate and select Cardata.
  5. From the menu, tap Don’t Optimize.
  6. Tap Done.

LG V60 ThinQ 5G

  1. Swipe down from the Notification bar. Select the Settings icon.
  2. Scroll until you see the Battery button, then tap it.
  3. From there, tap Battery Saver.
  4. Tap the Off button. If selected, it should turn turquoise.
