Cardata and battery usage
When you use a tracking app on your phone, like Cardata, it consumes battery power due to the following factors:
1. GPS Usage
- Tracking apps often rely on your phone's GPS to determine your location. GPS requires significant power to communicate with satellites and provide constant real-time updates.
- Frequent location updates or high accuracy settings (e.g., using GPS exclusively) increase battery drain.
2. Screen Usage
- If the app requires you to keep your screen on, such as when displaying a map, this can drain your battery. Bright screens or prolonged usage amplify the effect. You do not need to keep Cardata open on your device screen.
3. Background Processes
- Many tracking apps run in the background to continuously log data, which keeps the processor active and prevents your phone from entering low-power states.
4. Mobile Data/Wi-Fi Usage
- Our app uploads/downloads data in real-time (e.g., syncing with a server or showing live maps);it will use mobile data or Wi-Fi, which consumes power.
- Poor network connectivity can increase energy consumption as your phone works harder to maintain a stable connection.
Keep in mind that using other apps, such as GPS navigation (e.g., Waze or Google Maps), streaming music, texting, or making phone calls, can all contribute to increased battery consumption when used alongside Cardata.
To check battery usage, you can follow the below steps:
iPhone
- Go to Settings

Android
